NFL DRAFT

(TRADE with New England, Pick No.29)

The New England Patriots feel the need to trade up and take a legitimate wideout for Tom Brady in Wide Receiver Sammy Watkins.  Similar to the Julio Jones trade, Atlanta receives the Patriots 2014 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and 2015 1st rounder.  The Patriots are known to trade back yearly, so a splash in 2014 is completely reasonable.

Round 1 – DT Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh

Donald had a phenomenal season for the Panthers in 2013, recording 11 sacks and 28 tackles for loss.  Atlanta will need to bring in a Defensive Tackle to fill the void left by Babineaux, so the Falcons get a great value by taking Aaron at 29th overall.  Him being undersized will drop him just enough for the Falcons to snag him here late in the first round.  Donald is quite possibly the most underrated player in college football, and is considered a Geno Atkins replica.  His pass rushing abilities are exactly what Atlanta needs for a defensive line that is considered one of the worst at rushing the Quarterback.
