Round 2 – (NE) – OG Gabe Jackson, Mississippi State

Another Senior Bowl participant, Gabe Jackson is considered one of the most physical lineman available in the 2014 Draft.  Described as a “mauler”, Jackson is a stout run blocker that is catching the eyes of many NFL scouts.  His 6-4, 340 pound frame will allow the Falcons to run more effectively between the tackles, and help in those short yardage situations.  Atlanta’s owner Arthur Blank has hinted at the team’s desire to become more physical, and Jackson is exactly that.  The Falcons ranked in the bottom 5 for rushing in 2013, so taking Jackson here would help Atlanta return to a more balanced football team.
