5. Corey Linsley, C, Ohio State
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 298 lbs.
Projected Round: 6-7
Corey Linsley was the anchor in the middle of an Ohio State line that paved the way for one of the most dominant rushing attacks in recent college history. In a day and age when few colleges bother to rely on a run game, the Buckeyes forced their will on the ground and almost won a national title on the back of a power running game.
That’s the kind of tough running game that the Falcons have been missing lately. They need interior offensive lineman who know how to use leverage to create holes for the backs. Linsley lacks explosion and elite strength, but he’s shone that he knows how to get the job done in the trenches.
Reliable, Linsley started every game for Ohio State the last two years. He would immediately compete for playing time on an Atlanta offensive line that was a miserable failure last year.
