Dirty Byrd?

Hallelujah Jairus Byrd didn’t reach an agreement with the Buffalo Bills before the deadline to franchise tag players. Although the two parties can still come to an agreement it seems inevitable that Byrd will be on the free agent market this year. With Decoud set to be released at any time the team will be exploring their options. The Atlanta Falcons have been a team tied to the talented free agent safety but there is no guarantee he will land in Atlanta.
There is no doubt Byrd is a versatile safety who would compliment defensive coordinator Mike Nolan’s Defense but two other teams seem very interested in his services. Philadelphia has some what seemed like the front runners while Cleveland has also been in the mix.
Dimitroff will definitely be eyeing the San Diego native, but at what cost? There is other safeties available that could make the team back off a bidding war (Malcolm Jenkins and Louis Delmas) so who knows what the plan really is. Who knows if Byrd is a priority at all.
If he is though it will take some convincing from the front office to get Byrd on board but if they can get his top-tier talent it will make vast improvements to a less then stellar defense. The question will be should he be the highest paid safety in the NFL? But that’s a question only the future can answer. What do you think Falcons fans? Should we pay Jairus Byrd the money or get someone else?
