Round 5: RB Andre Williams, Boston College

Important Stat: Ran for 2177 yards in 2013, and was a Heisman finalist.

Last season, Atlanta bolstered the worst rushing attack in the National Football League.  Majority of that falls on the offensive line, but a sizable portion falls on Steven Jackson and Jacquizz Rodgers.  Jackson isn’t the bruiser he once was, and Quizz isn’t an every-down-back.  The Falcons could greatly improve the run game by adding some fresh legs who can pound the rock on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd downs.

This is where Andre Williams comes into play.  He isn’t a flashy back with pass catching prowess.  He isn’t a quick back with blazing speed (although he can burn you). However, he IS a power back with a stiff arm from the heavens.  Andre will run you over, there is no question about it.  If you can slow him down, you have the chance of a fellow teammate can finishing the job.

Atlanta needs this type of physicality to drain opposing teams in the 2nd half of games.  They lacked it in the 2012 season, and they are still searching for it.  Andre Williams is the answer.
