It was a noticeable improvement when Hawley took the field in place of the struggling Peter Konz, but that still doesn’t change the fact that all Falcons lineman played somewhat poorly at times in 2013.  A premiere guard in Jon Asamoah will change that for Joe.

Hawley had to account for much of Peter Konz’s and Garrett Reynolds’ mistakes on the right side of the line for the entirety of his playing time.  With Hawley worrying less about the right guard position, he can more effectively pick up pressure from the guard that needs it most, as opposed to consistently needing to assist the right guard as he did in 2013.
