CB Robert Alford
2013 second round pick Robert Alford is a young defensive back that many Falcons fans were more excited for than Desmond Trufant. We all know that Trufant vastly outperformed Alford last season, but luckily for Robert (and us fans), he possesses similar passion and athleticism as Desmond.
Alford plays a different game than Trufant, as he is a ballhawk and likes to gamble on passes. This can be a ridiculously high-reward play style with a new defensive scheme that will hopefully provide some pressure for Atlanta’s young secondary. I can’t see Alford outplaying Trufant in 2014, but I do see a player who will dramatically improve his play with some quality play in the trenches.
