The Real Defensive Scheme

Everything the Falcons have done this offseason suggests they’re going to be a blitz-happy defense. There is no standout edge rusher on this team and it wasn’t a position they addressed in free agency or the draft. It is a scheme built to manufacture pressure via confusion and added stress due to lack of personnel.

What little we did see, it looked awesome.

Of course Mike Nolan isn’t going to show his hand in preseason so I didn’t expect much but it was still very exciting to see. It just makes me anticipate the week 1 showdown with the Saints even more.
