Tight End
Role: #2 TE
In The Race: Bear Pascoe, Mickey Shuler
What was looking like a competition might not be much now. Mickey Shuler unfortunately suffered a concussion causing him to miss the game against the Titans. Before that, he did look like an adequate receiver and I figured he would have made the 53 but this setback might cost him. Bear Pascoe is a blocking tight end with limited receiving potential (38 catches in 5 years), and offers fullback versatility.
My Verdict: Due to Shuler’s concussion, I think the Falcons will roll with Bear Pascoe. It hasn’t been made clear how Shuler has looked in practice since and what his status currently is. If he can show that he’s fine and fully over the effects against the Jaguars, he might steal away that spot.
