Role: Reserve DE
In The Race: Cliff Matthews
Hardly fair to call this a race but it looks like Cliff Matthews will need an extraordinary effort to make the final 53. I thought he had a chance until the Falcons took Corey Peters off the PUP list. That looks like it leaves too many bodies for the defensive line. Goodman and Hageman are locks, along with the 2 starters. Only Robertson has really seen significant snaps for the backup NT spot.
My Verdict: I don’t see the team carrying 8 interior lineman. I think the team will part ways with Cliff Matthews.
