More Massaquoi and Maponga

  • More Massaquoi, Maponga – Stansly Maponga and Jonathan Massaquoi are arguably the two best pass rushers on the Falcons roster and yet the coaches still refuse to give either the snaps they deserve. Massaquoi has seen his snaps steadily increase this year but he still isn’t getting the reps he deserves. Stansly Maponga is a player who really stood out this pre-season and he looked primed for a role this year and yet 8 games in and Maponga has played just 65 snaps all season. Meanwhile the Falcons have been content to give Kroy Biermann 423 snaps, yes 423. It is decisions like this that are ultimately going to cost the coaches their jobs as playing Biermann the amount they have this year is simply inexcusable. Biermann is pretty much next to useless at this stage, he offers nothing as a pass rusher, and by nothing I mean nothing. He is a little better as a run defender but to be honest if being an average run stuffer is your biggest attribute you shouldn’t be playing the majority of snaps on defense.
