"TEAM FREE AGENCY PREVIEW (included in every article of series)There is no hiding the fact that this team is going to look new, fresh, even strange. We will not be seeing Mike Smith on the sidelines anymore, but a new face. Dimitroff and the new coaches are going to want to make changes for the city of Atlanta. Players will be released, they won’t be resigned, and new athletes will come in.Keep in mind that this isn’t a team that is rebuilding. This is a team that has one of the better, if not the best, quarterbacks in the NFL in Matt Ryan, arguably the best wide receiver in the league in Julio Jones, and a play-making cornerback, Desmond Trufant."
Atlanta Falcons K: Matt Bryant
Atlanta is Matt Bryant’s home.
Bryant has enjoyed an interesting and succesful football career. After not being selected in the 1999 NFL Draft, he signed with the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena Football League. Later, he made his way to Europe, the Giants, Colts, Dolphins, Buccaneers, then to the Atlanta Falcons where he would find his permanent home.
He was signed by Atlanta in 2009, and made an immediate impact booting a last second 49 yard field goal to send the Birds to the NFC Championship Game.
Matt Bryant is now 39 years old. Is it time to let him go?
Absolutely not. The last thing the Atlanta Falcons need is a struggle to find even a decent kicker. TD, or whoever the GM is heading into the off-season, should look towards signing Bryant to a one or two year deal so that the team doesn’t have to deal with a bad kicker.
Prediction: Re-sign 1 year $3 million dollars
