Atlanta Falcons To Meet With DE/OLB Dante Fowler

Dante Fowler  is rated as one of the best pass-rushing defensive ends in this year’s draft, and he will meet with the Atlanta Falcons, a team that desperately needs help getting to the quarterback.

Fowler is not a stranger to head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn is the person that recruited Fowler out of high school when he was working as the defensive coordinator at Florida.

"“It was amazing,” Fowler told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution after doing a photo shoot for Sports Illustrated. “He (Dan Quinn) taught me a lot of things in a short period of time. That helped me throughout my three years that I was there. It was just amazing. He’s a great guy as a person and as a coach. I would love to play for him.He played me all over the place. He played me at defensive end, defensive tackle, nose guard and linebacker. He put me all over the place and was able to give me some tips and some schemes to help me make plays.”"

Quinn had nothing but nice things to say about Fowler as well.

"“It’s very rewarding for me to see Dante (Fowler) be the player that he maybe would have been three or four years ago,” Quinn said. “Now, it’s up to him to continue it, take the next step and develop it. One of the most fun parts in coaching is finding guys, see what they can become and see it play out in front of you.”"

This seems like the perfect fit, but the question is whether Fowler will be available for the Falcons who are sitting at the eighth pick in the draft. It’s a possibility that the Atlanta Falcons can trade up but in the meantime, Fowler is projected to go in the top 5.
