Four Game Stretch That Could Decide the Season

Yes, it’s true that the Falcons have lost three in a row and have fallen 2 games behind division-leading Carolina just 6 games into the season, but the game this Sunday in Baltimore takes on an even greater significance as we look at the schedule ahead.

The equipment managers for Atlanta will certainly earn their salary over the next month or so.  The Falcons play their next four games away from the Georgia Dome.  When Atlanta agreed to play in London I doubt they envisioned the league setting them up for the longest stretch without a true home game in franchise history.  To make matters worse is the realization that the DirtyBirds have a nasty 1-10 record outside of Atlanta since the beginning of last year.

The next four games over five weeks, with the bye week sandwiched in there, will more or less decide whether owner Arthur Blank starts planning for new team leadership next season or if he will wait to see what the holiday season brings his beloved Falcons.

Atlanta’s Schedule for the next 5 weeks

  • 10/19 – @Baltimore
  • 10/26 – vs. Detroit (“home game” in London)
  • BYE
  • 11/9 – @Tampa Bay
  • 11/16 – @Carolina
