If you’ve noticed the trend of hard-hitting, no nonsense defensive prospects on this list then the potential selection of Landon Collins should come as no surprise to you. Beleived by many to be gone well before the end of day one, Collins will likely not fall to the Falcons 42nd overall pick, but his acquisition will go a long way to helping Dan Quinn replicate Seattle’s famous Legion of Boom right here in Atlanta. An aggressive safety who excels against the run, Collins led Alabama in both tackles (103) and interceptions (3) in 2014.

Collins is far more suited to playing strong safety over free safety which, as it stands, is not an immediate position of need, so the team may wish to convert the former Crimson Tide DB in an attempt to capitalise on his talent. Collins has spent some time playing FS during his three seasons at Alabama, and rarely is fooled by QBs attemtping to set up the defense with their eyes. He prefers to press offensive players and sit on their hip rather than sit back in coverage, but with the right coaching Collins would be a first rounder stolen by Atlanta in the second.
