Continuing the trend of prospects to help bolster the linebacking group, TCU’s Paul Dawson is a smart and athletic linebacker who could be plugged in to any of the three starting LB positions. Dawson reads the game excellently, and has shown a great ability to diagnose plays and engage the ball carrier. He is nothing but productiving, averaging a tackle every 5.3 snaps in college. He sheds blocks well, can get to the point of attack but has struggled at finishing plays at times. Dawson is a beast in pass coverage, has shown impressive ability in blitz situations and would add flexibility to the LB corps.

While a little undersized to play at MLB, the biggest concern for Dawson is his attitude, as he is renowned for being disinterested in watching film and expressing disinterest in the TCU program. Should this be seen by the organisation as a correctable issue, Dawson would be an excellent choice to play the Will role, before kicking inside to Mike on third down.
