We begin a new series, taking a look at each opponent on the Atlanta Falcons’ schedule in 2015. We kickoff with the Falcons’ first game — the Monday Night Football clash with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.
The Eagles have undergone a makeover this offseason, with Chip Kelly trying to build on a strong offense and fixing parts of their ailing defense.
We are very fortunate on the FanSided network to be joined with great team sites for every other NFL franchise, which gives us the opportunity to speak with writers for each Falcons’ opponent. I spoke with Anthony DiBona, editor of Inside The Iggles. DiBona gives us a great insight to the Eagles’ offseason, as well as a preview to the Week 1 matchup.
So what’s new in Philadelphia?
LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin and Nick Foles all departed. DeMarco Murray and Sam Bradford were brought in as replacements, and the Eagles will be hoping first round pick Nelson Agholor fills the void left by Maclin.
The McCoy trade to Buffalo saw Kiki Alonso join the Eagles in return; cornerback Cary Williams was released but replaced with former Seahawk Byron Maxwell. Oh, and they signed a guy called Tim Tebow.
It’s been a busy offseason in Philadelphia, and they are one of the most intriguing teams ahead of the new season. What does DiBona think they did well, not so well? What’s his take on the Falcons-Eagles season opener?
