Raheem Morris comes to the Atlanta Falcons as their newest secondary coach under Quinn and Smith. If this name sounds familiar to you it’s because he was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach from 2009-2011. Since then, Morris has been in control of the Washington Redskins secondary and now is in Atlanta.

Morris wasn’t a good head coach in the NFL and probably won’t get another shot at it. But, he is a tremendous secondary coach and has been for several years in the league. Morris is looked upon as a ‘players coach’ which is always good to have as an assistant. Morris may not have what it takes to lead an entire team, but when it’s a specific unit, it is a completely different story.

Morris is going to be a guy that the players will look up too and will bring an aggressive style of coaching to guys like Desmond Trufant and William Moore. This a fantastic fit for Morris and should bring a lot better play from a secondary that has struggled in recent years.
