Tight End

The Falcons have yet to find their franchise tight end since losing Tony Gonzalez to retirement at the end of the 2013 season. Levine Toilolo started for Atlanta in 2014 and struggled to hold on to the ball. He seemed scared to catch the ball at times and lacks that star quality. And for that reason, Toilolo may not have a spot on this years team.

The Falcons have brought in veterans, Jacob Tamme and Tony Moeaki to compete alongside of Toilolo. Both of these players are much better than Toilolo and should make the roster over him. It is unclear as to if the Falcons will keep three tight ends on the team, but my bet is that do.

Tamme is getting up there in age while Moeaki is still young, but has battled through injuries throughout his career. Both men are very reliable which will give them the edge of Toilolo. Kyle Shanahan likes to run a two tight end set in games, which would lead you to believe that he may want three tight ends. But, even if Toilolo does get another shot, don’t expect him to start. That ship has sailed in my opinion.
