Heading into 2015, these positions are looking much better. There won’t be very much battling going on either. The two projected starters at guard will be Jon Asamoah and Chris Chester who was brought in through free agentcy. Asamoah was a rock for a Falcons offensive line that crumbed in 2014. He provided the Falcons with a stable right guard and will have that job again in 2015.
Chester is expected to have the starting left guard job, but will have to beat out Mike Person and Jared Smith in order to do so. Chester will beat these two men out and secure the job with ease. Other guards on the roster include, Harland Gunn, Adam Replogle and Eric Lefeld.
In 2015, the Falcons should have their rock at center back from injury. Joe Hawley went down with an unfortunate knee injury against the Minnesota Vikings early on in the 2014 season, but should be ready to rock and roll very soon. He should see no competition for first team reps, but a battle for the backup job is up for grabs.
The battle for the backup job will include, James Stone, Peter Konz and Valerian Ume-Ezeoke.
