In a recent article posted in the Atlanta area, Falcons’ general manager Thomas Dimitroff stated that at this time he was not immediately interested at that time. However, that just might have changed after the injury to Antone Smith. Many say Rice has nothing left in the tank after posting a very disappointing season in 2013. However, many people fail to mention that he was running behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL and was nagged with injury as well.
Rice is healthy and ready for a second chance. Sure, the media will be all over it, but that will quickly go away after something else happens in the NFL. It never fails, something crazy always seems to find its way into the headlines. Whoever signs Rice, if anyone will get a serviceable back who is more than capable of carrying a heavy load. It’s time to use that 16 million dollars the Falcons have lying around on someone.
