Every NFL team needs a solid backup quarterback just in case something unfortunate happens to your starter. T.J. Yates was the backup in 2014 to Matt Ryan, but may be on the way out after a very poor showing against the Titans. Yates competed just nine of his 15 pass attempts including an interception.
On the other hard, Sean Renfree commanded the offense very well and out-shined Yates in every phase of the game. At this point, Renfree has the edge over Yates. We will see if that continues over the course of the next three weeks.
