LB Tyler Starr

For two years now, linebacker Tyler Starr how been looked at as a physical marvel who could be turned into a valuable pass rusher at the very least. Well, it hasn’t been too great for the former seventh-rounder and he’ll have to change to show that he belongs.

As I’ve said before, he has the size that head coach Dan Quinn likes in his pass rushers but hasn’t developed into a great… yet.

I honestly think that they should keep Starr on the practice squad at the very least. For him to stick on the team on defense, he’ll have to outperform other linebackers like Kroy Beirmann, yes Kroy Beirmann, Stanley Maponga, and O’Brian Schofield.

Those players are better but don’t have the athletic gifts that Starr has. At 6’5 250lbs, Starr isn’t going to be overlooked in stature and moves well for his size. The number one person he should be trying to impress is special teams coach Keith Armstrong. If there is anything that has saved player’s careers it’s been special teams.

Prediction: Cut but makes practice squad
