Devonta Freeman suffered a strained hamstring two weeks ago, but is recovering very nicely heading into the second preseason game this Friday against the New York Jets. Freeman is currently in a running back battle with rookie Tevin Coleman who is also sidelined with a nagging hamstring injury.
Freeman has returned to practice but has been very limited and will most likely sit out his second straight preseason game. If everything remains on schedule, expect Freeman to be ready to lace up the cleats and play by the third preseason game in a week. The Falcons desperately need their running backs to get healthy by the start of the season.
