Cliff Matthews is in big trouble. At the moment, Matthews is one of odd men out in a deep group of defensive ends and is likely to get cut before the start of the season. Currently, there are seven men higher than Matthews on the depth chart.
Matthews was listed as the third string defensive end opposite side of Beasley which has Tyson Jackson and Adrain Clayborn ahead of him. Matthews was a seventh round pick by the Falcons in 2011 and hasn’t done very much since then. he will need an outstanding game against the Miami Dolphins in order to have a chance.
