Honorable mention: Jamal Anderson

It is hard to imagine the Falcons without the nickname “Dirty Birds”, and these birds spread their wings under the hard-nosed, tackle-breaking Jamal Anderson. Forever etched in the hearts of Falcons fans from the nineties on, Anderson pretty much carried this team on his back as they locked battle with the elites of the NFC.

During his time with Atlanta, he posted the fifth highest total yards (5,336). He became the epitome of a workhorse with 1,329 carries in seven seasons, and averaged four yards per carry. His numbers may be a little higher as far as a career goes for the Falcons, but Anderson can never be forgotten. He performed well, and gave birth to the Dirty Bird’s end zone celebrations that may outlast his time in this list.

Anderson saw a lot of success on the field for the Falcons as he became a household hero to all the fans. When the ball was placed in his hands, he carried a bit of hope of a turnaround for the Falcons who had battled with ineptitude for so long. Therefore, let’s remember that Jamaal Anderson was pivotal for the Falcons rise out of the doldrums that had been their nest for so long.
