Outside linebacker: Lavonte David, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Lavonte David can do it all. He is a disruptive pass rusher who has the speed to make plays, can make plays in the run game and is excellent in coverage. The latter is strongest area; David’s ability to read the quarterback and make plays on the football is exceptional. He finished with five interceptions in 2013.

Inside linebacker: Luke Kuechly, Carolina Panthers

Kuechly is the best inside linebacker in the game right now. He’s a strong tackler, dominant against the run and excellent in coverage. His athleticism and speed to the ball carrier followed up with his consistent tackling makes him such a good player. In an All-NFC South team, he could be an anchor in the center of the defense.

Outside linebacker: Thomas Davis, Carolina Panthers

Like David, Davis is at his best in coverage. He has all the skills needed to make plays on the football with his speed and agility. Davis can cause problems when rushing the passer too, and he made 13 quarterback hurries last term. The only concern comes in run defense, where he can struggle on the move.
