NFL Draft 2016: Early scouting notebook takes
Draft lookback: 2013 Draft
The 2013 NFL draft hasn’t lived up to many expectations but still there is depth deep inside. Many people were sold on players who were supposed to be big time players like offensive tackles Eric Fisher and Luke Joeckel or pass rusher Dion Jordan. They’ve turned out to be disasters so far.
Not one player picked in the top-10 has made a Pro Bowl and three weren’t starters at the start of the season. The quarterback class may be one of the worst we’ve seen in 15 years. Quarterbacks like E.J. Manuel, Geno Smith, and Mike Glennon all were considered starter quality players but they each soon dropped to below value players.
There were some great players to come out the draft like DE Sheldon Richardson, CB Desmond Trufant, S Eric Reid, G Kyle Long, C Travis Frederick and WR DeAndre Hopkins. All were selected in the first round and all are valuable starters for their respective teams. Offensively this was one of the worst draft in past years but defensively there were a lot of players who were drafted higher than they should but provide great depth throughout their careers.
