The Atlanta Falcons are one of the five teams that sit atop the NFC with a record of 2-0 and were ranked as the league’s 11th best team heading into week 3 of the NFL.

The Falcons have not started off the year 2-0 since going 13-3 back in 2012, a year that saw the team host the NFC Championship game only to give up a halftime lead, killing their hopes of a Super Bowl berth.

Of the five teams that are undefeated in the NFC, the Falcons are the only team that did not make the playoffs in 2014. The start to the 2015 season has seen a lot of twists and turns that not a lot of people saw coming, but if you have been following the Falcons’ progression in the offseason, this great start to the season isn’t all that surprising.

The Falcons were in need of three key things heading into the offseason. A new coaching staff, a better offensive line and a better pass rush. So far, all three of those things were picked to perfection and are showing little to no signs of slowing down.
