The Falcons hired former Seattle Seahawks’ defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as you all know which has been a big part of Atlanta’s quick start to the season. Quinn has instilled a mindset into the team that has everyone buying into what he wants to do and has built great relationships across the board.
The Falcons have installed a brand new offensive scheme as well by hiring offensive guru Kyle Shanahan to run things. Devonta Freeman was quoted just this week of saying how much he loves to play in this style of offense. What’s different about it from year’s past? The balanced attack.
The Falcons are running the ball a lot more which is leading to the play-action pass, something Matt Ryan excels at. Want a good example of how good the play-action pass has been for the Falcons? Reference the first play of the drive after the Falcons recovered a fumble forced by Kroy Biermann last week against the Giants.
Ryan connected with tight end Jacob Tamme for a huge gain that got the Falcons back into good field position that would result in a touchdown later that drive. When everything is clicking, this offense will be unstoppable.
