Desmond Trufant was so dominant against the Giants last Sunday that he was non-existent. Makes a lot of sense right? Trufant did not give up a single catch and was only targeted twice all game long. Trufant covered all-star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on several occasions and shut him down.

With Brandon Weeden starting for the Cowboys this week, look for his inexperience to hinder him. Weeden will likely throw towards Trufant and when he does, Tru will be ready. If we don’t hear Trufant’s name called all game that is a good thing. If we hear it called a lot, that will also be a good thing. Why? Well, without Dez Bryant, the Cowboys lack a true number one wide receiver. Whoever Trufant is covering will be in inferior opponent and Trufant will not allow anything thrown his way.

If Weeden does decide to test him, expect an interception. He’s well overdue. has Trufant proven to the league that he is a top-5 cornerback? Absolutely. He is one of the best young corners in the game. Watch him closely on Sunday.
