The quarterbacks

This is a bit of a mismatch. In one corner, we have the three-time Pro Bowler Matt Ryan, one of the best quarterbacks in the game. On the other, we have a man who has only made four career starts with a 2-2 record, Ryan Mallett.

Ryan has proven already this season why he is one of the league’s premier passers. In the last two weeks, he’s rallied his team in the second half to go and win from losing positions. Down by ten against New York, Ryan needed to lead his team down the field in crunch time at the end of the fourth quarter to win—and he did. Down 11 points to start the third quarter against Dallas, he needed to show up—and he did.

Mallett on the other hand has found life difficult. Brian Hoyer was the starter in Week 1, but Mallett took over the job a week later. His inconsistencies has put a ceiling on the Houston offense.
