Devonta Freeman helping Atlanta Falcons’ playoff push, and what’s going on with Roddy White?
1. Is Devin Hester’s injury a concern moving forward?
It’s been announced that wide receiver Devin Hester has been placed on short-term injured reserve with a toe injury. Is this a long-term worry for the Falcons?
Toe injuries can be the worst for running backs, and while Hester is a receiver, his return ability could be severely affected if it’s a lingering issue.
"“We have been trying to treat his toe injury the best we could, and he has been doing everything in his power to get back on the field, but at this point we think this is the best plan of action,” coach Dan Quinn said. “We are confident this time will let Devin get healthy and be a big contributor to this team once he is back on the field.”"
After missing the opening game of the season with Philadelphia, Quinn expected Hester to return to practice soon after and return to game action. But it’s been a consistent problem and it’s kept the former Bear off the field.
The good news is he has been practicing in a limited manner, which shows there might have been some progress. But Hester will now be out until at least Week 13, and he is a major loss to this team.
