Denver Broncos (-4) at Cleveland Browns

The Broncos (5-0) are winning on defense, and that unit is probably the best in football right now. The Browns (2-3) are playing well, but Josh McCown will struggle to move the ball against this team. Peyton Manning does just enough, again.

Pick: Denver 20, Cleveland 14

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions (-2.5)

The Lions (0-5) are a mess, while the Bears (2-3) have bounced back from an awful start. Jay Cutler is playing as well as he has done in a long time even without his favorite targets. The defense has been much improved, and they carry on the momentum building under John Fox to get to .500.

Pick: Chicago 24, Detroit 20

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (EVEN)

What a mess. The Texans (1-4) and Jaguars (1-4) are struggling. Because they are at home and have the quarterback and receivers to hurt the Texans secondary, I’m picking Jacksonville.

Pick: Jacksonville 23, Houston 20

Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings (-4)

The Chiefs (1-4) have completely underachieved this season, and I don’t see it getting any better in Minnesota. These Vikings (2-2) are dangerous and return from the bye with a comfortable home victory.

Pick: Minnesota 26, Kansas City 14

Miami Dolphins at Tennessee Titans (-2.5)

The Dolphins (1-3) need to get back to basics. Run the football with Lamar Miller and get some pressure on Marcus Mariota. The Titans (1-3) haven’t been much better than them, and I see Miami stealing an ugly one.

Pick: Miami 20, Tennessee 10

Washington Redskins at New York Jets (-7)

This will be a battle between two strong defenses and two average quarterbacks. The Jets (3-1) win that battle. The defense is dominant, and while Ryan Fitzpatrick is no Aaron Rodgers, he has Chris Ivory, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker to help him out. Washington (2-3) drops one on the road.

Pick:

Arizona Cardinals (-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers

Without Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers (3-2) won’t win this one. They did so well to snatch a late victory in San Diego, and they can thank the defense for keeping them in the game. Mike Vick and Le’Veon Bell won’t get a chance to win it late on this time, because these Cardinals (4-1) are too strong.

Pick: Arizona 28, Pittsburgh 17
