31. TENNESSEE TITANS (1-6)
Last week: 31
Change: None
Another defeat for the Titans, and this time at the hands of the struggling Texans. Tennessee had seen enough, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt was fired. A big problem has been the absence of Marcus Mariota, who remained out with a knee injury.
The firing comes as a slight surprise, as the Titans are certainly a team in transition. But they felt a change was necessary, and the search for a replacement is on. The schedule doesn’t get any easier for Tennessee, either. Next up is a game with Drew Brees, who just tied an NFL record for seven touchdown passes in a game.
Games with the Panthers, Jaguars (twice) and Raiders await, and none of them will be easy. Can the Titans turn it around, or will they be picking in the top three again next April?
