Atlanta Falcons early underdogs against Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Atlanta Falcons are slight underdogs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to early odds.

It’s hardly a surprise to see the Atlanta Falcons open up as slight underdogs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week. Per OddsShark, the Buccaneers are one-point favorites.

This isn’t surprising at all. Atlanta fell to 6-5 after a disappointing loss at home to the Minnesota Vikings. The Falcons have now lost four straight, and five of their past six games. The Buccaneers, on the other hand, have won three of their past five, including a win against the Falcons in Atlanta.

If Dan Quinn’s team has any hopes of reaching the playoffs, they must kickoff this three-game road stretch with a victory over the Bucs. Slipping to 6-6 after a 5-0 start would be tough to take, and the Falcons hit the road again after this game to take on the undefeated Carolina Panthers.

With five games to go, the Falcons’ playoff hopes are quickly fading. The Seattle Seahawks’ victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers puts them into the wild-card spot that Atlanta previously owned.

Atlanta doesn’t play at home again until December 27, which is against Carolina. The schedule looks a lot tougher with three straight on the road, before finishing the season with two at home.

It’s not surprise to see the Falcons start the week as underdogs in what will be a big NFC South clash.
