It’s been a turbulent season for the Miami Dolphins, and any hopes of reaching the playoffs surely ended with defeat to the New York Jets this past Sunday. The loss resulted in the firing of offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.
The Dolphins were unable to run the football against the Jets, posting just 12 yards on the ground. That’s a recipe for disaster, forcing them to become one-dimensional. It doesn’t help when your defense can’t stop the Jets scoring five touchdowns, four of which came from the arm of Ryan Fitzpatrick.
What’s next for the Dolphins? There is plenty of talent in place at the skill positions. Lamar Miller is an excellent running back who needs more of the ball, Jarvis Landry is a top wide receiver and they have plenty of depth at the position. The defense should be performing much better than this.
