2. QB Joshua Dobbs
If you were to ask any GM around the league about Joshua Dobbs, most would probably say “who?”, as he was one of the quarterbacks that flew under the radar because of a program, in Tennessee, that was struggling. But, leave it to some great nights against high-profiled teams (Alabama and Georgia), and Dobbs quickly became a tremendous surprise for the Volunteers.
Around the NFL, the quarterback play leaves a little to be desired as even the elites are having bad years in comparison. Whether it’s the sign of the NFL becoming more of a defensive-minded game or just a bad year across the board, every franchise needs to start preparing for the era after their prized starting quarterback, and that includes the Falcons.
I believe that this will be a tremendous value for the Falcons as Dobbs has shown the ability to show up in big games this year. And though he may not have the stature that may desired, he is a can’t miss if, for some reason, he’s available in that fifth round for the Falcons.
