After the Atlanta Falcons made the announcement shortly after Dan Quinn was named the new head coach that Kyle Shanahan would be running the offense, many people thought that Matt Ryan would soar to new heights. Sadly, that hasn’t been the case.

If one thing is for certain, Shanahan is a wizard at creating good running backs, but at the same time is a quarterback killer. Just ask Robert Griffen III about that.

The Falcons got off to an extremely surprising 5-0 start which had everyone praising Shanahan and Ryan. However, since then the Falcons have gone 1-6 and the talks about trading Ryan and firing Shanahan are in full effect.

I hate to say it, but one of the two men has got to go after this season is over and at this point, i’m not so sure which one it will be.

Ryan is without question the best quarterback the Falcons have ever had. If you think that the best QB in franchise history is Michael Vick than you can exit off this article right now. I’ll wait.

Continuing. Ryan took over a franchise at a point when it was in shambles. Bobby Petrino up and quit on the team and the roster was full of a bunch of nobodies minus John Abraham and Roddy White. In came Ryan and the rest was history.

However, the Falcons have had two consecutive losing seasons and very well could have three in a row after this year is over. Trading Ryan is obviously going to be a lot harder than just firing Shanahan and here’s why.
