In Ryan we trust

The Atlanta Falcons faced off with the rival Carolina Panthers in Week 4 of the 2012 season with a 3-0 record and were looking to keep things rolling. Ryan was sacked a career-high seven times but still managed to put together a 24-14 lead in the second half. What happened next was something nobody will ever forget.

Cam Newton rallied the Panthers and took a 28-27 lead late in the fourth quarter which gave the Falcons one last chance. With the ball pinned on their own 1-yard line with 1:09 remaining and no timeouts, Ryan launched a 59-yard pass from his own end zone to Roddy White.

Matt Bryant kicked the game-winning 40-yard field goal just two plays later with 5 seconds remaining to keep the Falcons’ perfect season alive. At the time the Falcons’ 4-0 start was their best start since 2004 in which they went to the NFC championship game.
