Falcons win in first playoff game in team history
Have you ever thought about the first playoff game in Atlanta Falcons history? Well here it is. Good news, the Falcons won the game! The Falcons made the playoffs in 1978 and traveled to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles.
The Falcons did not play all that well throughout the games’ first three quarters and trailed the Eagles 13-0 heading into the fourth quarter. But the Falcons would not go away quietly in their biggest game in franchise history at the time.
Quarterback Steve Bartkowski threw a touchdown pass on consecutive drives and put the Falcons out front 14-13 late in the fourth quarter. The Eagles had one last opportunity to win the game on a 31-yard attempt but the kick was missed wide right.
The Falcons stormed the field in celebration and secured their first win in franchise history on their first try.
