Deion Jones, LB , LSU – 6’1 225 lbs

Another athletic freak of nature. Even in a conference dripping with athletic linebackers, Jones made a name for himself. Yes, I notice the weight and realize he is going to have to pack on some pounds. However, you can’t teach natural athleticism and Jones has that.

Jones possess the fluidity to be reliable in pass coverage and read/react instincts to see a run play and pounce. Even if Jones doesn’t make the play. he takes correct angles to put himself in position.

He doesn’t have season upon season of production which could be a ding against him. He also isn’t that great on the blitz but again those are teachable traits. You can teach tactics and skills. You can’t teach talent and being a pure athlete. Which is exactly what Jones provides.
