Julio Jones has done it all for the Atlanta Falcons in 2015. In a year in which the Falcons have struggled in the passing game, Jones has put the receiving corps on his back and has shredded defense after defense.
With the Falcons down 10-7 in the third quarter, Ryan launched a ball to Jones 52 yards down the field. Jones had two defenders draped all over him but that did not affect him whatsoever. Jones out jumped Luke Kuechly, turned around and sprinted into the end zone for a 70-yard touchdown. The reception was his longest down-field catch of his career.
Jones was matched up with phenom Josh Norman who has been the best corner in the league this season but didn’t appear to be in this game. Jones caught nine passes on Norman for 91 yards.
Jones finished with nine receptions for 178 yards and a touchdown and moved into a tie with Marvin Jones for fifth all-time in receiving yards for a season with 1,722.
With one game to play, Jones is 16 catches away from breaking Harrison’s single-season reception mark and is just 127 yards away from moving into second play all-time in receiving yards in a season.
