32. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (4-11)

Last week: 1
Change: None

It’s been a long, long season for the San Francisco 49ers, and the defense was served up another beating at the hands of the Detroit Lions. Matthew Stafford tossed 37 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns against a depleted 49ers defense.

The 49ers have experienced one of the biggest falls in recent memory. It seems strange to think this team was in the Super Bowl three years ago, and went to three straight NFC Championship Games. Now it’s competing for a top-5 pick in the draft in what looks to be the long process of rebuilding.

DuJuan Harris was the leading rusher with 73 yards. Yes, the same DuJuan Harris that has seemingly been at all 32 teams this season and was playing for the Seahawks two weeks ago.

What’s next for the 49ers? A slow rise back to the top of the NFC begins now. There are question marks all over the team, starting at quarterback, running back, wide receiver and across the defense. Whether it’s Jim Tomsula at the helm next year or someone else, the 49ers are million miles away from the team they were a couple of years ago.
