They are winning ugly, but what does it matter? The Kansas City Chiefs just keep on winning, and now own a nine-game win streak, which almost has them in the playoffs. Victory over the Oakland Raiders this week will ensure the Chiefs are in the postseason despite starting the season 1-5.
Much like their division rivals, the Broncos, the Chiefs are doing most of their damage on defense. Even when the offense isn’t flying high, which let’s be honest with the Chiefs, is quite often, the defense has been able to get the job done.
Against the Browns, the Chiefs only had 125 yards of passing. The Browns had 110 more total yards than the Chiefs, and each team had a turnover each. But Kansas City held firm and only allowed Cleveland into the end zone once. Rookie cornerback Marcus Peters took back an interception 46 yards deep into Cleveland territory.
The Chiefs have the opportunity to enter the playoffs with a ten-game win streak. You want to make a deep postseason run? It doesn’t always necessarily take the best roster in the league, but rather the hottest team. The Chiefs are a hot team, and will be a tough opponent for anyone in the playoffs.
