Why to watch

This is the final opportunity to watch your Atlanta Falcons play a regular season game until September. That seems hard to believe as it only feels like yesterday the Falcons were kicking off the first Monday Night Football game of the season at home to the Eagles.

The season can be viewed as a success for Dan Quinn and the Falcons. Looking back at the season, it’s fair to assume the Falcons aren’t the team that rolled out to a 5-0 start, but they also aren’t the team that stumbled to 1-7 following this electric start. Quinn’s team is somewhere in between. A team capable of giving anyone a game, but not one yet able to compete with the league’s elite.

But considering where this team has been in recent years (4-12 and 6-10), a victory and 9-7 record would be a significant improvement. Quinn has plenty to build on his second year. He’s already helped the defense improve dramatically, and although the offense has had its problems, the run game and offensive line has seen improvements from 2014.

This is the season finale. A chance to finish it strong, and what better team to close out the campaign with than the Saints. There will be no shortage of energy inside the Georgia Dome.
