Atlanta Falcons: Five first round options at pick 17
4) Josh Doctson, WR, TCU
The Falcons are in desperate need of No.2 wide receiver and Josh Doctson could be that guy if the team feels like the draft puts them in the best position to address this dire need.
Doctson is this year’s No.2 ranked wide receiver behind LaQuon Treadwell of Ole Miss and has done nothing but impress while a member of the TCU Horned Frogs. Doctson has tremendous size standing at 6-4 and would complement Julio Jones beautifully.
Doctson hauled in 79 passes for 1,327 yards and caught 14 touchdown passes. The senior improved on both his receptions and yards in each of his 4-year tenure and may have the best hands in this year’s draft.
While this pick is the least likely of the five, you never know what could happen on draft night. Who’s to say the Falcons don’t move up or drop down in this years’ draft? With Treadwell likely off the board before pick No.17, Doctson should be available and will at the very least be considered when Atlanta is picking.
