FS Darian Thompson, Boise State – 6’3 210 lbs

A big safety with plenty of experience as he has 44 games under his belt while at Boise State. Thompson has good ball skills especially for a guy his size. Thompson also brings the value of being able to defend some of the bigger receivers in the NFC South. With WRs Mike Evans & Kelvin Benjamin & TE Greg Olsen roaming in the division, Thompson can be a Swiss army knife for the Falcons defense. The former Bronco is also a fluid athlete which can be tied to his time as a corner earlier in his career at Boise State.

Thompson will bring production to the Atlanta Falcons as he totaled 209 tackles and 17 INTs during his four seasons as Bronco. Thompson will need to sharpen his skills in the run game. Outside of that, he brings a polished IQ when it comes to football and there isn’t much to worry about when it comes to his range. If you so happen to question his readiness, there is no need to. Thompson has the ability to start from day one.
