4. Replace Thomas Dimitroff

Under much deserved scrutiny, Thomas Dimitroff was saved by Arthur Blank’s consoling words of keeping him a couple of weeks ago. And though this was much to the chagrin of every Atlanta fan that is immersed within this franchise, one has to wonder if this is a never-ending cycle of poor leadership?

There are few general managers that came as highly regarded as Dimitroff was when he was hired in 2008, but it’s been obvious that he is probably the luckiest GM in all of the NFL. And, like everyone who is lucky, his is running out quickly as his hot-seat as he continues to strike out more and more on everything that the GM must do perfectly: drafting, free agency and staffing.

Dan Quinn may quickly become the saving grace to Dimiroff, but, until Dimitroff can get the right players in Quinn’s coaching, the patterns of the past three years may repeat themselves as the Falcons have only averaged six games per season during that stretch which is hard to do when you have the likes of Julio Jones and Matt Ryan manning your offensive attack.

Whatever Thomas Dimitroff has on Arthur Blank must be incriminating because everyone around the NFL was shocked when Blank said that “Dimitroff was staying”. Whether this is merely lip-service or the truth has yet to be seen, but it is obvious that Dimitroff’s time is coming to a much needed end. But, unfortunately, it is coming too late as he should’ve been gone some time ago.
