Freeman vs Jones: Who will have better Pro Bowl showing?
We are less than a week away from AFC–NFC Pro Bowl and the Atlanta Falcons are lucky enough to have two members of their team selected to play.
Devonta Freeman and Julio Jones were two of the best players in the NFL in 2015 and were rewarded with a spot at the Pro Bowl as a result.
Freeman was selected as one of the four captions and will be paired up with defensive tackle Geno Atkins of the Cincinnati Bengals.
While I could be wrong, it would be rather surprising if Freeman doesn’t select Jones with either his first or second pick. I mean, why wouldn’t you want the best wide receiver in the NFL on your team?
Both Freeman and Jones are forces in the NFL, but who will wind up having the better showing in the actual game?
My bet is on Freeman.
Freeman is one of the most elusive players in the league and with hardly any actual tackling going on during the pro bowl, the odds of him breaking off long run after long run are pretty high.
two other Falcons could replace someone on the roster due to a players’ eligibility to play in the game if his team makes it to the super bowl. Those two players are cornerback Desmond Truant and fullback Patrick DiMarco.
Several cornerbacks selected to this years’ pro bowl are still in the playoffs and full back Mike Tolbert of the Carolina Panthers is the one hold up as far as DiMarco’s chances of getting selected go.
The game itself isn’t what it used to be, but it’s always fun to see players from your respected team play. Matt Ryan threw the game-winning touchdown pass in last years’ game, so Freeman and Jones have their work cut out for them.
Who do you think will wind up having the better game out of the two Falcons’ selected?
